About this course

This training will explore strategies to support a deep sense of grounding and embodiment. Together we will: • Unpack the science of grounding and parasympathetic activation • Experiment with a variety of tools and practices that support grounded resonance and embodiment • Discuss strategies for implementing grounding and embodiment practices into your life and the work you do with clients.

  • Describe what grounded resonance and parasympathetic activation is -- and the qualities they support.
  • Describe at least three practices to support grounded resonance and embodiment.
  • Describe several strategies for integrating grounding and embodiment practices into their lives and the work they do with clients.

This educational program is designed for mental health professionals, dietitians, social workers, and health care providers.

Course Instructor(s)

  • Amy Fogarty, DNP, RN, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, YACEP

    Amy is the Director of Yoga for The Emily Program and is a yoga therapist for South Sound, WA and Duluth, MN. She is a lifelong learner, trauma-informed yoga therapist, yoga teacher, and registered nurse. Her career is dedicated to supporting healing and well-being. Amy is passionate about eating disorder recovery, facilitating yoga and mindfulness groups, and supporting the yoga team at The Emily Program. Some of her favorite things to share in yoga and mindfulness groups include: mindfulness practices, breath practices, somatic movement, therapeutic yoga postures, traditional yoga postures, and relaxation practices. Amy earned her doctorate degree in nursing at The College of St. Scholastica and completed over 1000 hours of yoga training at Yoga North International SomaYoga Institute. She is a registered yoga teacher (RYT-500) through Yoga Alliance and a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) through the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Amy is a licensed registered nurse in the state of Minnesota.

    For more than 2 decades, Kim Pevia has found a way to weave all of her passions, learnings and gifts together creating a container for the challenging and necessary conversations required where we are now on the timeclock of the world. She has a sense of humor and a twinkle in her smile that facilitates the work with more ease. As a practitioner of whole hearted living, relationality is at the core of her work.
